Christkindlemarkt 2013

After taking a hiatus last Christmas it was fun to resume the kindlemarket tradition with our good friends Sarah and Phil. We made a night out of it by staying at Chicago's Swissotel, but not before devouring a delicious early dinner of beef stroganoff, meatballs, sausages, and various vodka flights at Russian Tea Time. From there we headed to "the markt" (as we like to call it) for a few bootfuls of hot gluhwein, then resumed our normal course through the Atwood Café at Hotel Burnham, The Lockwood in the historic Palmer House Hotel where we met Nicole and Aaron (and Lisa unashemdly commandeered the piano in the grand ballroom), and finally Miller's Pub, where Tony hooked us up (again) with some delicious white russians and the newest beers on tap.

Needless to say the next day was spent doing not too much... of anything.
